The OM mantra is one of the religious symbols that often shows up on Tibetan jewelry pieces. OM is short for Om Mani Padme Hum The mantra can not be translated into a simple sentence. Om Mani Padme Hum is the mantra of Chenrezig.
“Through mantra, we no longer cling to the reality of the speech and sound encountered in life, but experience it as essentially empty. Then confusion of the speech aspect of our being is transformed into enlightened awareness.”

The dZi beads (pronounced zee) are one of the more peculiar things in Tibet. dZi means “shine, brightness, clearness, splendor”, and the bead is called “Heaven’s Bead” in Chinese. The bead has eye shaped patterns and other lines as decorations. The number of eyes determine the value and meaning of the dZi beads. The nine-eye dZi beads are believed to be the holiest and has tremendous power.

The nature and origin of the bead is very mysterious. There is still no knowledge of how the bead is formed with such patterns or if it is truly formed by nature. Even the method of making the manmade dZi bead is not known.
